Royal Challengers Banglore (RCB) defeated the Delhi Capitals (DC) by 1 run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match played on Tuesday.
In the match, DC had won the toss and had decided to bowl first. RCB had made 170 runs in 20 overs by losing 5 wickets. For the score, RCB's AB de Villiers' had contributed 75 runs not out in 42 balls. Similarly, Rajat Patidar and Glenn Maxwell had made 31(22) and 25(20) respectively for the team.
DC's Avesh Khan,, Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra each had taken a wicket.
Although DC's batsmen Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer had made half centuries, the team could not meet the target by 1 run. Pant and Hetmyer had made 58(48) and 53(25) and both had remained not out. Marcus Stoinis had contributed 22 runs in 17 balls for the team.
In the match, RCB's Harshal Patel took 2 wickets, whereas, Kyle Jamieson and Mohammad Siraj each had taken 1 wicket.
In the last ball of the second inning, DC needed 6 runs to win, but DC's Rishabh Pant could hit only a four on the Mohammad Siraj's last delivery. With this victory, RCB has stepped up to the first place by collecting 10 points winning 5 matches out of 6.
RCB's AB De Villiers 75*(42) became the player of the match.
