In the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), Delhi Capitals defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in Super Over on Sunday.
Both the teams had made equal 159 runs in the match played at Chennai on 25 April. Delhi had lost the toss and was invited to bat first. Then, it had made 159 runs in 20 overs losing 4 wickets. Batting to chase the target of 160 runs, Hyderabad also played all 20 overs, but could just make the same 159 runs in the loss of 7 wickets. So the match had reached to the Super Over.
In the Super Over, Hyderabad had given the target of 8 runs and Delhi met the target. Hyderabad's batting partners Kane Williamson and David Warner had scored only 7 runs in the Super Over.
Delhi's Prithvi Shaw had scored a half century, whereas, captain Rishabh Pant had collected 37 runs. In the match, Shikhar Dhawan had contributed 28 runs and Steve Smith had remained not out in 34 runs.
Delhi's Avesh Khan and Axar Patel had taken 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
Hyderabad's Siddarth Kaul took 2 and Rashid Khan took a wicket in the match.
After the 4th victory out of 5, Delhi has stepped up to the 2nd position having 8 points. Hyderabad is in the 7th position with 2 points in 5 matches.
Delhi's Prithvi Shaw became player of the match.
