'Is Nepal your inherited property?': Nepalese People

The latest political activities in Nepal have clearly demonstrated how inefficient are all the political leaders of this nation. Those who are involved in the 'tussle' have been acting like some low-level drunkards, whereas, some others have been observing and enjoying the cheapest scenario. The ruling party, CPN (UML), has reached beyond the limit of all the political values, norms and principles. Their intra-party drama has presented the most disgusting clips of potential triviality in the politics of all times and places. Now, international analysts, critics, writers and researchers have started to cite examples of the Nepalese political clutter, nation's  predicament due to impotent politicians and the meaninglessness of a long experience or practice for conceited leaders of Nepal. The current political situation has become the most hateful and the most counterproductive in the history of this country.

The prime minister and The chairperson of the CPN (UML), KP Sharma Oli, has recently demanded clarification from 27 members of the parliament representing from the party. He has accused the MPs, who are close to the suspended senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal faction, of acting against the party's legislation and their own party's government.
The Nepal faction has decided to send clarification individually. The faction and the mainstream UML led by Oli have neither parted nor connected. However, the issue behind their level-less, dirty tussle is still unknown.

On the other hand, Nepali Congress has also become irresponsible to the national issues. It could not identify its role according to the nation's expectation. The party's experience and practices have become absolutely unable to teach its leadership the political lessons. It does not allow any differences or changes in its conventional practices, perspectives and programs. The leadership thinks nothing other than protecting and promoting their posts. They give hardly any value to the national issues like, right political system for a political stability, political stability for a sustainable economic growth, economic strength for national prosperity and national prosperity for a respectful international identity.  A political party, which claims to do politics for the people and the nation, but it never thinks of solving the national problems, that is not a political party; that is just a herd of selfish, self-centered people gathered in a place to to carry out their malicious ambitions. Here, nepali Congress, the oldest political party established in Nepal, has also failed to contribute a single brick in the long-ignored nation building task.

Furthermore, the revolutionary CPN (Maoist Center) has been showing dual nature after the partition of the CPN: it is still sticking to the Oli-government, and on the other hand, the party is leading campaigns against the same government.  Its diplomacy seems to keep the party revolving round Mr. Oli, reaching after all to nowhere farther than that. People have felt itching and annoyed with the party's unsuitable double role. People have started to make speculations about it saying, 'the status of the Maoist Center has completely collapsed. Now, it has no political principle, no support of people and no sincere cadres and well-wishers'. They further add that the party will reach down to the earth in the next election if it participates in it on its own. The party, which came into the national mainstream after a long struggle, has absolutely forgotten the blood of thousands of people. It has ignored the sacrifice of hundreds of thousands of the party's cadres and supporters, who had unquestioningly offered their lives and personal interests to the party's interest dreaming to bring changes for the bright future of the nation. Such a party, which had spread dreams of socialism, equality and social justice among people, has now placed itself as a party without principle, deprived of collective objectives, unfit to address the burning national issues, confused, pretentious and unknown of general political norms and necessities. And, people ask, 'How can they dig the fortune of the nation?'

Those, who have been closely observing the Nepalese politics, have almost given up all hopes regarding 'nation-building'. Some people argue that the nation-building works are going on. Roads, bridges, electricity powerplants etc.are being constructed. They also cite people residing in remote areas and say, 'Look, the house on the top of the hill has a television. The house-owner uses the cell phone, etc'. Any insistence of such development works are valueless when we look back to the expectations of the past political movements and current world-wide requirements. The nation had to step up from the line of poverty; the religious and social harmony must have become far stronger producing a collective national strength in order to preserve the nationality, national sovereignty and geographical integrity; tens of thousands of precious youth-energy of the nation must not have been flying abroad looking for work; people had to be receiving civil services without any delay, or just by fulfilling the criteria and procedures mentioned in the prevailing laws; the state must have made an easy access to health and education services for the Nepali citizens without any bias: the natural resources of the country must have become major sources of the national revenue, main destinations of tourists and the most valuable property of the nation; and finally, the country must have built its identity in the international community as an economically prosperous, geographically beautiful, socially harmonious, strategically decisive and politically stable country even after its geographical inconveniences for the international trade. But unfortunately, the expectations of the people became pure hypothetical wishes, which are likely to remain as unfulfilled dreams for ever. Highly educated leaders, such as Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani, Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat etc. have publicly demonstrated that academic qualification has little to do with politics. The incompetent leaders have only added to the frustration of the people.

Now, there is no political party, on which people can turn their eyes with hope. The strong majority government of the Communist party has become incapable for leading the nation. The latest activities of the party leaders are just 'Gimmicks'. Their further aim also seems to continue the same situation till the eternity. No party has started discussion about detecting the drawbacks of this inappropriate political system, and establishing another more effective, geographically more practicable, socio-culturally adaptable and internationally constant political system. It looks as if they were satisfied in what they had; as if they did not want stability, rule of law and national prosperity; as if they could not survive without turmoil. Their activities have produced doubt in the mind of the people regarding the possession of this country. People say it looks as if this country was inherited by a group of political leaders from their ancestors' property.
