United States of America has declared sanctions on Russia accusing the latter of doing hostile acts including cyber attacks. Dozens of Russian officials and agencies have been targeted by the restriction.
In the statement, US has mentioned the objective of the sanction is to stop Russia's harmful foreign activities.
US has accused Russia of SolarWinds hacking last year. In the statement, Moscow has been alleged for interfering in the 2020's US presidential election.
Before this, US president Joe Biden and Russian president Vladimir Putin had made a conversation on Tuesday. In course of the conversation, president Biden had vowed to strongly protect US' national interest, and along with it, he had also proposed president Putin to arrange a meeting in order to identify the sectors working in colaboration.
Rejecting the allegations, Russia said it would give the right answer. The growing tension between the two biggest world powers has created worries all over the world.
America had impoed restrictions on 7 Russian officials and more than a dozen Russian agencies in allegation of giving poison to Alexy Navalny, a Russian oposition leader and a critic of Putin-Regime.
Immediately after the announcement of the sanction, the Russian foreign ministry reacted saying the US act was a hostile step which will dangerously increase the temperature of tension. The ministry has further stated that it will give a decisive reply to such aggressive action of the USA.
European Union, NATO and the United Kingdom have issued statements in favour of the sanction. Experts of international relations say the tension between the leading world powers may lead to strong polarization dividing the world powers into two lots.
