President- Khanal Meet: What New Cooked?
President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has met the former prime minister and the senior leader of CPN (UML) Jhalanath Khanal on Saturday in the latter's home at Dallu. They are said to have discussed about the current political situation in Nepal.
President Bhandari had also showed concerns ragarding Khanal's health. In a reply, Mr. Khanal said that his worry was more about the health of the communist party and the communist movement in Nepal than about his personal health. Mr. Khanal further stressed if the political parties remained unified and stronger, the democracy would be strengthened.
It is said that president Bhandari also expressed her best wishes saying the party and the communist movement might remain strong and the democracy might be unharmed.
Mrs. Bhandari has visited Mr. Khanal at the time when the CPN (UML) has reached the climax in internal debate and is on the verge of getting torn apart.
Recently, the prime minister and the chairperson of the party KP Sharma Oli has suspended its several leaders including the senior leader, Madhav Kumar Nepal, even from the general membership of the party for 6 months.
